Mask or no Mask : This article is not to convince or brainwash anybody towards buying an opinion. The aim is to simply throw some light on a topic, least discussed and often refrained from speaking one’s mind on. This is a thing that’s on my mind and on most of the people’s face today- The Mask.
It’s time to bring this topic to notice, as the sales of masks increase worldwide. Different make and designs, fancy, not so fancy, customised or highly-priced N95, all are up for sale, big time.

The Mask Codependency
During these times of chaos and confusion, people have lost control over their minds to think liberally and decide for what’s really beneficial or harmful for their well being. At some places, freedom of choice is being attacked, while elsewhere law is enforced, making the use of mask mandatory.
The increased sales, public awareness or mass motivation and legal obligation towards the use of the mask is largely creating a co-dependency on it. The Mask mania is, implanting a form of Fear Psychosis in the human mind and even body. So much is the upshot effect, that people avoid stepping out of their home unless they have their mask on. Checking the quality and reliability of fabric used and how much of face their mask actually covers is least considered, in this regard. Often the mind accepts, wearing a mask is for safety and that is where it ends.

Do You Know?
You are inhaling a great amount of your own breath, that you are exhaling under the mask. Not only this, but the mask is also Obstructing the infusion of oxygen into the blood cells and different organs of the body. That piece of cloth or whatever material it maybe is blocking the rhythmic, autonomous flow of oxygen through natural direct passage ie nose and mouth, from entering your internal system. This may prove to be more harmful than beneficial, in the long run.
Oxygen, is the most vital, life-sustaining element, freely available to each one of us, through the natural world. When we inhale or breathe in from our nostril and breathe out from our mouth or even nostril again, this automatic yet gentle breathing serves as a filter. A filter that helps all cells and fibres of our body to get cleansed and energised at the same time. Thereby leaving us with fewer chances of getting infections and diseases. Our natural rhythmic breathing process, automatically keeps us fit by providing oxygen to our body, including the brain. The gentle flow of oxygen into the blood helps not only the body but the mind too.

My Personal Take on wearing Mask
I’m not much in favour of wearing a mask and I have never worn one as yet. Thanks to my stay at the home lifestyle that proves to be more a privilege than a form of deviance from the outside world. When and if most required I like to wrap my face with colourful cotton scarves than a typical mask.
And then, there are times (logically and symbolically) I do not wear mask myself.
I Do Not mask my face – while driving, talking to my neighbours, walking my dog out in the evening. Also while attending friends or family visiting home- often they are the ones wearing a mask, leaving the need for me to wear one. I do maintain basic Hygiene rituals, mostly all old ones that I have always practised and observed for many years now.

It is Important to Mention
If you are still reading I appreciate you taking out time and being open to reading some out of normal views on this topic.
I’m not saying don’t wear a mask at all. But don’t let yourself suffer from a fixation over a mask. Know it for yourself, when and where to wear the mask and for how long. Also ask yourself Do I need to wear the mask while Driving my car, especially when I’m the only one in there? My advice is, wear a mask, only if you think it’s genuinely required, as a mandate or for reasons medical and personal.
