Considering it natural to experience stress, once in a while helps to better cope up with everyday life challenges. Being stuck up simply means the inability to move forward, a state of limbo, feeling lost, hopelessness, helplessness, thoughts that one is good for nothing, or can’t take it anymore, and so on. So, getting stuck up is common. Having a break down is Ok. But remaining in that stuck upstate for too long is not ok. On the contrary, getting stuck may even prove dangerous for many reasons, giving way to unhealthy and faulty Behavioral Patterns. Depression or mental depression is a straight outcome of living in a stuck upstate for a ‘long time’. The duration of a long time may vary from person to person.

Depression when not addressed timely, becomes chronic, manifesting itself in different areas of body and mind- physiologically or psychologicalLy. Giving rise to physical ailments, diseases,  mental illnesses, unpleasant behaviors, unhealthy habits, and repeated patterns or acts of self-harm, in severe cases attempt to suicide. The inability to cope up with life’s difficult situations hampers ones daily functioning, thought process, emotional balance, and well being.

Mood and Feelings

Get into the habit of observing your moods and filtering your true emotions. Ask yourself- how am I feeling today? And why? When you have the answer, give your self multiple options that you can choose from, to make yourself feel better. Some alternatives may be available to you in your immediate environment, just look around to grab them. While for others you might have to seek help, talk it out with the person you find most reliable and supportive. Don’t forget to look out for common signs of depression amongst your loved ones. Sometimes all they need is a gentle nudge from you, to wake them up from a deep state.
