Balance THY Self: The Panic of the Pandemic and the Fear of the Flu has immensely shadowed over the minds of a big part of the world population. With so much anxiety, confusion, agitation, going on, it is quite tough, not to fall victim to its influences and consequences.
Millions of people belonging to different age groups, across nations and societies are falling prey to Mental illnesses. It’s a long list and least to mention is the medical staff assigned to deal with the task of treating the infected. And also numerous others working in the government sectors, where serving duty or attending office is mandatory.
Before the health organisations realise the need to support, it will already be very late. Mental health has been ignored tremendously when rather it should have been given equal priority.

It’s time we do ourselves some good. Remember we are each our own caretaker before any rescue team addresses us. Most important it is to keep track of our current lifestyle. The world seems topsy-turvy, thrown off balance. The planet is in an altered state and are we.

How to Balance THY Self
Here are some reminders to bring in the balance, build up your immune system and strengthen your coping mechanism :
- Check your sleep cycle. Both Mental and physical rest is very important
- Eat a nutritious diet to keep your immune system strong.
- Stay physically active. Practice every day, at least one activity that works upon your body- walking, jogging, dance, yoga, skipping or any milder ones, suitable for you Even simple stretching exercise every morning will do you good.
- Watch out for all the triggers that upset you and make your choice to stay away from them. ( triggers could be food, gadgets, people, news, habits, behaviours or activities)
- Practice some creative work. Take time out to pursue some hobby. Art is expressive. Music is magic. Cooking is therapeutic. Gardening is healing. There’s so much more to choose from.
- Keep your screen time within decent limits. Most of it is mind-controlling if you haven’t realised it yet.
- Step outside and breathe in some fresh air. We need continuous exposure to fresh, natural, freely available oxygen, to stay away from diseases.
- Soak in some sunshine. Expose yourself to some sunlight. It’s rich in vitamin D and full of universal life force. It has the healing Prana- the hidden cosmic energy.
- Avoid the mask wherever possible. Whether driving alone or taking a stroll. Inhale that oxygen and breathe easy, you need to remove that mask. know when you really need to cover and for how long.
- Stay calm and don’t forget to smile as often as you can. Smiling releases stress, in an instance. Try it! Reflect upon yourself to discover, there are many reasons to smile. Here’s a quick drop- ‘Know that you are blessed and still luckier than so many out there, struggling since generations just for food, shelter and clean drinking water’.
